I like the idea of RS as more than just a place to share files anonymously. The devs really hit upon a great idea in making a fully decentralized social network/sharing platform. I think central to really making any new social network takeoff is giving users features they can't find in other networks. In the case of RS this feature is the ability to share files of arbitrary size with the whole network with out worrying as much about censorship. For this to be an effective lure for new members the file sharing functionality must work as well as other available alternatives (bittorrent, streaming etc) otherwise the users will get disillusioned. Three important areas that can be optimized in sharing are 1). Search 2). Diversity of content 3). Speed of downloads.
A new p2p client called tribler looks like it may optimize speed of downloads better than RS.

Is there any way for RS to also copy the tribler technique for increasing download speeds? Could the two networks be made compatible?
