NAT-to-NAT communication via NAT Traversal or pwnat

Postby [Alien] » Wed Apr 16, 2014 4:03 pm

I've found an interesting tool for communicating behind NATs. It would be good to see this functionality in RetroShare

Retroshare does NAT traversal, if both friends have DHT enabled.

maybe pwnat is a different or better or additional NAT Traversial method which could be used.

connectivity problems between newbies is one of our basic level deal breaker

I agree more work is needed on this, some friends and I were unable to connect because of firewall, later I learned you could select "Firewalled" and then choose to use a relay (Options->Relay->tick "use relay server"). However that was very confusing! Especially for my friends... and even still sometimes it says firewalled and takes forever to connect.

More NAT Traversal and also DPI evasion is needed. This program would never work behind BlueCoat firewall or the Great Firewall of China due to this...
