VOIP not available ? ? ?

Postby knowledgeco » Tue Dec 03, 2013 3:49 am

I just downloaded and installed this package:

Retroshare-V0.5.5b-svn6877_OSX10.6u

I would like to use the secure VOIP feature though it doesn't seem to exist. I looked in settings> plugins and discover that it is completely empty. I've enabled the Advanced Mode in general settings and that doesn't seem to change anything immediately noticeable.

When I search the files at:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/retrosh ... re/0.5.5b/

I see three options for VOIP for linux distros though nothing for OSX.

How do I enable this feature without using a virtual box to run XP or Linux?

I've included a screen shot of the chat window showing that there is no symbol seemingly representative of a VOIP option.

My organization is excited to use this software for our Mac users though so far we've come up with no-one internally that can sort out how to get it to work. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Bump

Any help here? Is this just an oversight for the OSX users? What's the point of secure VOIP software that doesn't have VOIP functions?

the mac os package, i think does not contain the voip plugin,
it needs to compile the voip plugin for mac os x.

Thanks for that info. Where do I get the OSX version of the plugin to compile? Do I have to compile the whole package with the plugin included or can I get the plugin and compile it separately, place it in the proper folder and have it work as expected?

All I see in the http://sourceforge.net/projects/retrosh ... re/0.5.5b/ source are:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/retrosh ... _amd64.deb
(a Debian package)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/retrosh ... _armel.deb
(another Debian package)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/retrosh ... y_i386.deb
(and another Debian package, this time for i386 processors)

I'd be happy to install a VOIP plugin and troubleshoot getting it to work if I had a resource to download that plugin from.

The problem with OSX is: nobody has a Mac, except drBob. Best would be to get in contact with drBob, you can find his email on the homepage.

You have to compile Retroshare+VoIP-Plugin. You can get the source from the svn: svn://svn.code.sf.net/p/retroshare/code/trunk
Then you have to find out how to compile everything. I don't know if the files in trunk/build_scripts/OSX are useful or outdated. You can ask drBob for help.
Once know how to do it, please document your steps in the wiki:
