Is this project still alive?

Postby stefan.apenheimer » Thu Feb 02, 2012 3:27 am

Hi everyone,

I'd love to contribute to this amazing project. Has anyone an idea, how many people are still working on the project and if there is a development-timetable?

Does anyone know where I can find information about the gui? I'd try to help improving the usability, but I have never worked on an open-source project before. Does this project need some Artwork, like a new logo, buttons, etc.?

Thanks so far, regards, Stefan.

Hi Stefan,

Yes, Retroshare is very much alive and kicking...

The problem is that now that RS is working so well and the internal forums are so active, we tend to forget about these external ones.
This issue has recently been brought to my attention... and we'll try to pay more attention here ;)

We're just about to release V0.5.3a!

If you're interested in following development, you can subscribe to the SVN checkins here:

If you want to help out, its best to start by submitting patches for minor GUI fixes ... and go from there.
- get directly in contact with the devs via the email addresses.
- or find us in the internal RS forums... once you're connected to the collective.

Usability is currently one of our weak-points, so help in this area is much appreciated!

Hey bob,

When I got it right, the devs are using internal forums via RS? I'll try to get access to some of these ;) But anyways, thanks for your reply.

Greets, Stefan

Yes, the internal forums are quite busy and the developers seems to release new revisions pretty frequently.

Well I'll write here since I can't start a thread.

With two very good updates in the last few weeks, yes this project is alive and well.

I hope the developers might like to know how much this user appreciates their work. THANK YOU!!!

Hello I am joining throwaway795 thanking the developers for this program running as well, increasingly is more stable and with more functions,

As it could be connected with the internal forums of Rs talking Drbob7 to know the news of this program and participate in the community

Thank you

@ All which think this forum is outdated and not used and the software is not developed anymore. THATS NOT TRUE.

RetroShare provides internal Forums, which make the communication outside useless.
