What is your dev workflow ?

Postby ririlajoie » Sun Jan 04, 2015 1:53 pm

Hi guys
Quick question.

I would like to know how you guys work.
Can you describe here how you make your dev on RS ?
What platform are you on ? (win/linux)
What is your way to go for debugging stuff ?
Do you have some netbeans/qtcreator/visual studio (mingw ? not sure it can work) project solutions for RS that you could share ?

Also, if you can describe what is your workflow. I suppose most of you are using alternative VCS on your own computer. Git or Hg. What tools do you use to keep being synchronized with the svn trunk ?

Thank you if you have the patience the write !

When I was doing work on retroshare, I was using git svn. The master branch for the svn trunk, and one branch per patch. And Qt Creator for the IDE obviously.

Edit: that’s under Linux, with my own build script (qmake && make clean && make for each directory, more or less), and with ccache to speed up compiling.

Im using since beginning with dev on RS on Windows.
Compiling and debug commandline and using some time QtCreator.
I used my own Editor like Notepad2, but i prefer you to use QtCreator.

I read this here not sure if will be useful:

I guess this solves most of your questions:

http://retroshare.sourceforge.net/wiki/ ... ers_Corner

I'm on Debian, when i contribute a patch (rare) i branch the GitHub Git Rep (svn mirror) and create a patch from the pull request.
