DHT kadc.sf.net implementation for better connecting

RetroShare is good done, but has only one missing big:

Two friends without an IP or having the IP changed after 24 Hours do not find again.
That is especially on mobile phones the problem.

Retro needs the DHT implementation, to use http://kadc.sf.net

that would solve the last bug of retro,

Can you implement it with the 0.5.0 version?

What do you think about dyndns, no-ip, etc?
It says here they have integrated a patch that makes them work:

I think many people using Opera Unite are taking advantage of dyndns-type services.

it is already in, but not every user has a central account there and knows how to figure it.
the DHT is the better solution and should be in before the dyndns is added, as this can be done additionally.
the DHT is a MUST HAVE. Everyone a node in the network, not asking central accounts.
with a DHT it works out of the box.
Libretroshare has this bug of loosing connection and that is not useable then for thousands of users.
It is technically a BUG. Simply that. It needs to be fixed soon.

I agree. I'd like to see RetroShare in full effect, blogs and all, before Diaspora first release. More working solutions for people to try out and compare.

Actually we are at this time experimenting a totally new DHT implementation. I can't tell when it will be released, but it's definitely already at the finalizing stage.

mhh cool, is there any code for it in the SVN?
(a) what benefits come with it, that kadc or any other like in torrent or kademlia does not have?
the usage for retroshare is just a p2p network for bootstrapping,
(b) that works through the firewall and nat?
(c) does it allow to be used by other apps? which? for what purposes?
(d) why not making it compatible or use the DHT node connecting of offsystem.sf.net
(e) interesting would be to allow to browse websites p2p, that means that one node in the p2p allows to load one page from another ip, that would make a second tor.
(f) does the DHT allows to store http://www.foaf-project.org/ profiles?

why not using the OFFsystem p2p network for the DHT`? it is a dHt too
and has a good bootstrapping based on urls...
