Italian Translation

Postby pie » Sat Jan 31, 2009 2:50 pm

Hi,
I'm translating retroshare in Italian. For the moment I have corrected only the few strings that had been already auto translated (nearly 15-20% of the work) and I was wondering if it would be useful to post this early translation version or not.
The problem is that when I ran RetroShare for the first time on my pc, it started with the Italian language and It was really hard to understand what was going on with the wizard. Lots words are really absurd and sometimes the meaning of certain sentences is the opposite of their real meaning in English. I don't know how long will it take me to translate the whole program because I don't have much spare time now.

So, if you think that this could be useful I'll post it. Otherwise I think it would be better to start RetroShare in English because Italian translation, as is now, is really useless and misleading.

about editing exsisting translation file mostly not works realy...

Mean must do a fresh transtlation...

Fresh mean must delete the svn .ts file... then generate a new .ts file for italian language.

you must do when you has already installed QT4:
lupdate RetroShare.pro

then it generates a fresh .ts file for your language, then can start with translation.
